Tendering for Work at MVDC
Mole Valley District Council (MVDC) gives companies of all sizes a wide range of commercial opportunities, to provide goods, works and services.
Using the e-tendering System
Our e-tendering system is used by much of local government in Surrey and Sussex. We use the portal for procurement, ranging from quotes of low cost work to full EU contracts. In order to bid for any work, potential suppliers need to register for free on the SE Shared Services Portal. Help and guidance documents can be found on the portal.
The Tendering Process
When a company has been selected to tender for a project, tender documentation will be sent to that company by MVDC. The tender documents usually contain the following information:
- contract conditions or conditions of purchase
- letter of invitation and instructions to tenderer
- method statement requirements (if necessary)
- pre-addressed tender return envelope
- pricing document and/or form of tender
- specification and/or schedule of rates
MVDC will also normally ask further questions tailored to match the needs of the individual contract. A company's responses and supporting evidence will be used to assess whether that company has the required level of skills and abilities to tender, in relation to other interested firms.
Companies will be asked to complete and return MVDC's tender documents by a set time and date in the tender return envelope. The tender documents are all opened at the same time after the tender return date and evaluated. If your tender documents are not returned by the specified deadline the tender will be excluded from the evaluation process.
