Mole Valley District Council (MVDC) is no longer responsible for the registration of premises that sell non-medicinal poisons.

On 26 March 2015, the De-regulation Act 2015 introduced amendments to the Poisons Act 1972.

Retailers of products containing poisons listed on Part 4 of Schedule 1A to the Poisons Act 1972 (what used to be Part 2 of the Poisons List 1982) no longer need to register to have their name listed with their local authority. The De-regulation Act 2015 has removed the need for sellers of non-medicinal poisons (e.g. DIY shops and Garden Centres) to register with the local council.
