Ensure you are Registered to Vote

On Thursday 3 May, this year's District Council elections will be taking place in some parts of Mole Valley.

Anyone not yet registered to vote should do so as soon as possible in order to have your say in these elections, where 14 wards* will be up for re-election. To register, simply visit www.gov.uk/register-to-vote by midnight on Tuesday 17 April.

If you are away or cannot go to the polling station on Thursday 3 May, you can apply to vote by post or proxy. Mole Valley District Council (MVDC) must receive applications from anyone wishing to vote by post by 5pm on Wednesday 18 April. Applications to vote by proxy must be received by 5pm on Wednesday 25 April. In special circumstances (medical or business emergencies), an emergency proxy may be appointed after this deadline.

To apply for a postal or proxy vote, visit www.molevalley.gov.uk/elections to download an application form or contact the Elections team on 01306 879198 or on electoral.registration@molevalley.gov.uk.

Karen Brimacombe, MVDC's Electoral Registration Officer, said: "Time is running out to make sure you can take part in the upcoming District elections. These elections are an opportunity to make your voice heard and have your say on who represents you here in Mole Valley. However, if you're not registered by 17 April, you won't be able to vote."

Philippa Saray, Electoral Commission Regional Manager for the East and South East of England, said: "If you have turned 18, or if you have moved home recently, it's particularly important that you act to ensure you are registered. It takes just five minutes online and means that you can take part in this important election."
