Record-Breaking Panto for Dorking Halls
Dorking Halls' 2018 Christmas panto Beauty and the Beast has become the most successful production of its type in the venue's history.
The show smashed Box Office records, attracting 9,271 pantogoers, which is 2,000 more than the previous record for Peter Pan in 2012.
Customer reviews have been glowing, and include:
"It was the best panto we've ever seen. Our girls age four and six were entertained the whole way through. I'd highly recommend."
"Lovely panto. Great cast and my daughter who is six and me had a little dance in our seats and we loved it."
The show ran from 15-29 December with 22 performances, and starred Emma Grace Arends, who plays Daisy in Peppa Pig, as Belle, and Emmerdale legend Peter Amory as Baron.
Councillor Charles Yarwood, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Strategy and Assets, said: "We have had a Christmas show at the Halls every year since 1999, and they are always hugely popular. This is unprecedented though. It suggests people's appetite for panto is becoming even stronger, and the festive tradition is still very much alive."
For those that can't wait until Christmas for their next panto fix, tickets are now on sale for Enchanted Entertainment's Easter panto Peter Pan on Friday 5 April, starring Tracy Beaker's Dani Harmer as Wendy and comedy legend Bobby Davro as Smee.
