District and Parish Elections: 2 May 2019
Mole Valley District Council is composed of 41 councillors and elections are held by thirds, which means that one third of the seats are subject to re-election in each of three successive years, with County Council elections held every fourth year.
The next scheduled District Elections are on 2 May 2019 for the following wards:
- Ashtead Village
- Beare Green
- Bookham North
- Bookham South
- Box Hill & Headley
- Brockham, Betchworth & Buckland
- Capel, Leigh & Newdigate
- Dorking South
- Leatherhead North
- Leith Hill
- Mickleaham, Pixham & Westhumble

Last date for registration
The last date to register to vote, in time for these elections is Friday 12 April 2019. If you are already registered, you will receive a poll card from Friday 22 March.
Last date to apply for a postal vote
You can apply to vote by post if you will not be around to attend the polling station on polling day. Please download and complete an application to vote by post. The deadline to apply for a postal vote is 5pm, 15 April. All ballot papers are issued by 1st Class post.
If your application for a postal vote in received by 19 March then your ballot paper(s) will be dispatched on, or around, 12 April. If your application is received between 20 March and 15 April then your ballot paper(s) will be dispatched on, or around, 18 April.
Last date to appoint a proxy (someone to vote on your behalf)
You can appoint someone to vote on your behalf if you will not be around to attend the polling station on polling day. Please download an application to vote by proxy. The deadline to apply for a proxy vote is 5pm, 24 April. Please be aware that the person appointed as your proxy must attend your normal polling station on polling day.
If the person appointed as your proxy cannot attend your polling station on polling day then they can apply to cast their proxy vote by post. They must do this by the deadline for a postal vote (5pm, 15 April).
Last date to appoint an emergency proxy
If you become ill, or are called away on business, after 5pm, 24 April, then you can apply for an emergency proxy. An emergency proxy can only be granted on these grounds. Please be aware that an application to appoint an emergency proxy must be attested, either by a medical professional (if you are taken ill), or by your line manager (if you are called away on business).
