Rural Summit Update
Following February's successful Rural Summit, Councillor Corinna Osborne Patterson, Cabinet Member for People & Rural Mole Valley said, "The Summit's networking opportunities have already provided tangible business benefits with attendees meeting together post-event to tackle their business issues. I've been contacted directly by many people who are now actively engaged with progressing their businesses following their experiences at the Summit so once again, thanks to everyone that came and took part."Having considered all the feedback from the event, we are now to focus on four areas during the next year. These are tourism, housing, digital connectivity and promoting rural funding opportunities.
"We will be considering how we can best support tourism and the visitor economy. The housing focus will be around maximising the development of affordable housing in our rural areas. The digital connectivity work stream is about lobbying on behalf of rural Mole Valley areas that do not have superfast broadband and working with partner organisations on possible funding initiatives. The focus on rural funding opportunities will be delivered as information and signposting to potential funding sources.
"For anyone that missed out on tickets to the event, you can now watch the full length video on our webpage where you will also find all the presentations that were given on the day."
