Health and Safety in the Workplace
Mole Valley District Council (MVDC) enforces health and safety at work for the majority of workplaces (approximately 1,600) in the district. All inspections are to ensure that employers are effectively managing the health, safety and welfare of their employees and customers.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has identified five priority topic areas nationally that contribute the most to workplace injury and illness at businesses inspected by local authorities.
Please see various pages of the HSE website for more information on the five priority topic areas listed below:
- falls from height
- muscular-skeletal disorders
- slips and trips
- work related stress
- workplace transport
MVDC also investigates workplace accidents, occupational diseases and dangerous occurrences. Further details can be found by visiting the Accidents at Work web page.
