MVDC's Five-Year Strategy

Residents and businesses are being invited to have their say on Mole Valley District Council's new draft Strategy, which will help guide the authority over the next five years.

Comments on the draft Strategy can be left online or by completing and returning a hardcopy version from 10 September to 19 October 2018.

A similar consultation exercise was last carried out in late-2014. The comments received at that time helped inform Mole Valley District Council's (MVDC) adopted Corporate Strategy 2015-19. A new draft Council Strategy 2019-2024 has now been developed using a wide range of information and feedback which MVDC has gained in recent years. The draft Strategy sets out MVDC's vision, priorities, guiding principles and core values, all of which guide the organisation's approach to decision-making.

Whilst the core values remain unchanged, the draft Council Strategy 2019-24 sets out a modified vision and proposed new guiding principles: Putting People First; Acting Strategically; Living Within Our Means and Being Open & Accessible. The priorities - Environment, Prosperity and Community Wellbeing - remain the same, but the Council aims beneath these have been updated.

Councillor Charles Yarwood, Deputy Leader of MVDC and Cabinet Member for Strategy & Assets, said: "We really would value your input into our proposed new Council Strategy, which will help define the work of the Council over the next five years. We are only too aware that we need to respond to the changing nature of local Government. A lot has changed since 2014 and we need a Strategy that more accurately reflects the district we live, work and enjoy now, whilst also looking towards the future."

Comments can be made on the draft version of the MVDC Strategy 2019-24 either by visiting and completing the online form or by returning the hardcopy version, which is available from the HelpShop in Leatherhead and from the reception desk at MVDC's Pippbrook offices in Dorking.
