Elizabeth Daly is a proud no-nonsense Scot with a passion for children's welfare, based on her own tough working-class childhood. She gained a place at a top Glasgow grammar school, then left at 16 so she could support her family, working first as an accounts clerk at United Biscuits and then at General Accident, before taking a leading Scottish childcare qualification and moving to England.
Elizabeth has lived in Great Bookham since 2014 and works in a local nursery school, having previously been a playworker covering three Sure Start children's centres in Guildford. She believes strongly in putting residents first and is determined to get a better deal for all Bookham residents whatever their backgrounds.
In her spare time, Elizabeth enjoys singing, bingo and playing badminton, and regularly volunteers on the monthly BRA community litter picks.
