Cllr Simon Budd

Ward: Brockham, Betchworth, Buckland Box Hill & Headley

Conservative Member

I was born in Brockham and worked in the village for 15 years. My family have been farming in the village since the turn of the last century and the farm is currently run by my younger brother.

When we were first married, my wife Hilary and I lived in Betchworth (Barley Mow Court). We moved to Brockham in 1996. We have both served as school governors in the past. Hilary also served on the Parish Council until recently. As our children grew up, we were involved in village societies: scouts, guides, YFC etc. We continue to be involved in the Brockham Bonfire and BERT. These events have proved hugely popular and successful in bringing people together and raising funds.

In 2015 I was honoured to receive the British Empire Medal for services to the local community. I feel enormously proud of this achievement, despite my enjoyment in organising and participating in these activities.

This year I will turn 50 and I am eager take on the new role as District Councillor for Brockham, Betchworth and Buckland (3Bs). I hope to be able to represent the best interests of the 3Bs and also use my local knowledge and life experiences to serve Mole Valley district as a whole.
