Heritage Open Days

Every September, thousands of volunteers across England organise events and come together as part of the country’s largest festival of history and culture.

2024’s Heritage Open Days (HOD), taking place over 6 to 15 September, is in fact the 30th anniversary of this annual celebration! Each year, events – including walks, talks and hands on experiences – provide the opportunity to see hidden places and try new things.

The most amazing thing about this festival? Every single activity and experience is FREE!

Visit the Heritage Open Days website for more information.
